I've had a great weekend, spending yesterday telemark skiing in fantastic weather/conditions at Glen Shee with Andy Hyslop and today orienteering at ESOC's South of Scotland Orienteering League event at Newtyle Hill. Newtyle is varied and in places very rough, but provided interesting and fun orienteering. I ran the Brown (longest) course which was 8.0k with 365m of climb and 24 controls.

This years Scottish Night Championships took place at Faskally, near Pitlochry. Dougie Condy planned courses that made really good use of the area and that had lots of route choice. I ran the M50L course which was 5.5k with 295m of climb and 20 controls.

Brad and Beccy planned tonights event which was in my home town of Dunblane. The Long course was 6.5k with 15 controls, had a mass start and gaffling in the middle part. The lead changed hands several times throughout the race, with James Tullie winning in 40 minutes.

Darnaway was used for the World Championships in 1976 and always provides good orienteering. Today was no exception! I ran the Brown course which was 9.4k with 230m of climb and 19 controls.
