Polmaise Wood is on the western outskirts of Stirling, has a lot of indistinct paths and areas of rhododendron.
Approximately 25 runners set-off on a mass start for the tricky 4.0k course with 17 controls. Lots of route choice separated the runners reasonably early on, although I did have a good tussle with Ali Bryan-Jones (- who lives on the northern edge of the map!) around the latter part of the course. I took 46 minutes - some 12 minutes behind winner Steve Nicholson. Despite my slow time, I was not unhappy with my performance given a recent cold!
