Newcastle and Tyneside Orienteers organised the Northern Championships at Ray Demesne - a predominantly open area with deep heather in places, some small copses and some areas of rock and contour detail.
I ran the M50L course which was 8.6k with 155m of climb and 22 controls, and which was won by John Tullie in an impressive time of 53 minutes.
