Clyde Middle Race - Coille Nathais

 Clydeside Orienteers organised today's middle distance race at Coille Nathais - an area of oak woodland on the south side of Loch Etive in Argyll. I ran the Blue course which was 4.3k with 175m of climb and 16 controls.

Scottish Sprint Championships - St Andrews

ESOC organised this years Scottish Sprint Championships at St Andrews where I ran M55/Course B.

ESOC Sprint O - Edinburgh

ESOC organised this years Sprint O in Edinburgh which followed the usual format of a Prologue followed by a Chase. I was in the Mens Super Veteran's category which ran the same course as the Mens and Womens Open.

EUOC SoSOL - Holyrood and Meadowfield Parks



Edinburgh University Orienteering Club organised today's South of Scotland Orienteering League race. I ran the Brown course which was 8.4k with 630m of climb and 30 controls. The course incorporated a section of micro-O (between controls 18 and 25) which had a map at a scale of 1:1,000.

EUOC City Race - Edinburgh Southside



Edinburgh University Orienteering Club organise the Big Weekend every January in Edinburgh, with a City Race on Saturday and a race in Holyrood Park on Sunday.

In the City Race, I ran Course C/Men's Superveteran which was 3.9k with 22 controls.

TAY Christmas Score Event - Kinnoull Hill





This years Tayside Orienteers Christmas Score Event took place at Kinnoull Hill, on the edge of Perth. Competitors on the long course had 60 minutes to get as many controls as they could, with each control having a points value. A late return resulted in penalty points being deducted. To complicate things further and, in keeping with the season, bonus points were available at selected controls. At the last control, competitors were given a second map (see below) and had to visit 6 controls in order before finishing. Missing or wrong controls resulted in penalty points being deducted. The event was followed by a Christmas lunch at the nearby Murrayshall House Hotel.
