ECKO Spring Series - Dunollie and Ganavan

I travelled to Oban tonight following an irresistable event flier! It promised "top quality terrain and undoubtedly the best views of any of our orienteering areas - from Mull and Lismore, to the hills of Ardgour and Glencoe, to Cruachan, to the Paps of Jura and to Kerrera." It went on to say "the Green and Blue courses offer extremely varied and very enjoyable terrain: heather, rough grass, bog myrtle, patches of native woodland, short grazed grass with clumps of gorse, crags, knolls, beautiful bluebell woodland, short bracken and small areas of marsh." Wet weather prevented the views from being as good as they might have been, but the area and course were first class! I ran the Blue (longest) course which was 7.4k with 20 controls and which took me 64 minutes.

The view from Ganavan on a dry evening.
