Went to an area near Oban (see location) that I last ran at in a Scottish Orienteering League race in March 2004. Was keen to get some quality technique training in prior to the World Masters in a weeks time, but sacrificed relevance of terrain so that I could subsequently visit the nearby Isle of Lismore to look for otters and sea eagles (- didn't see either!).
I reran most of the 2004 course, starting from the road in the south east part of the area, visiting 11-17 and then 1-8. The area was tough going with a lot of recent bracken growth - the scourge of summer orienteering in the UK!
